Everyone was a winner as merchandise big hitters and duffers alike blew the dust off their woods for the annual BPMA Golf Day

On Thursday, 27 June 2024, the Nottinghamshire Golf and Spa experienced yet another thrilling BPMA Golf Day, building on the success of previous years.

The sold-out event, held under perfect summer skies and a refreshing light breeze, brought together industry professionals for a day of friendly competition, networking, and camaraderie.

Participants met for breakfast and coffee, then showcased their golfing prowess on the challenging yet picturesque courses, followed by an enjoyable dinner to round the day off.

Big Hitters

Highlights of the day included the Nearest the Pin Competitions with Chris Green (Team Involution) demonstrating exceptional precision on the par-3 holes, securing one of the nearest the pin accolades.

Chris’s Team Involution colleague Nathan Cookson also proved his consistency and skill, adding another nearest the pin victory to the team.

Paul Lee (Team Merchandise Lab) continued fine form, clinching another nearest the pin title with a remarkable shot.

Nic Taylor (Team Desktop Ideas) displayed fine accuracy, earning a nearest the pin recognition.

Longest Drive

Tristan Wright of Team Impression Europe showcased his power and technique by winning the longest drive competition, sending the ball down the fairway with impressive distance and control.

Team Competitions

Among the teams, victors in the 9-hole BPMA Scramble were the Merchandise Lab Team, consisting of Elliot Sampson, Paul Lee, Matt Lawrence and Nick Baker. Teamwork and strategic play secured them the top spot in a fun and challenging format.

Winners in the 18-hole, 4-Ball Better Ball competition were Team Involution featuring Nathan Cookson, Marc Read, Chris Green, and James Rahill. They took home the trophy thanks to a mix of cohesive play and coordination.

Runners-Up in the 4-Ball Better Ball were the DTB White Team, featuring Clive Allcott, Oliver Simpson (LSI), Lloyd Simpson (LSI), and Ben Lowes (Crystal Galleries), who put in a strong performance to finish in second place.

Individual Awards

Team Merchandise Lab’s Paul Lee was crowned Individual Champion due to his skill and consistency throughout the day.

His team colleague, Nick Baker, also from Team Merchandise Lab, was close behind, claiming Individual Runner-Up, showcasing talent and determination to secure the second spot.

In the spirit of the day, Paul Maye (XD Connects) received the light-hearted Wooden Spoon award, embodying the spirit of participation and enjoyment of the game.

The BPMA Golf Day continues to be a highlight on the promotional merchandise industry’s calendar, fostering relationships and providing a platform for informal networking. 2024’s event not only highlighted individual talents but also focused on the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

The BPMA expressed its gratitude to all players and supporters for their contributions to making the day a success. The Nottinghamshire Golf and Spa proved to be an ideal venue once again, offering a perfect blend of challenging holes and scenic beauty.
